Lose The Fear From Your Acting Auditions

Mar 08, 2016

Releasing Audition Fear

How useful would it be for you to release most of your fear before an acting audition?

Well just for a moment think back to a time when you were fearful before an audition... you know the kind of thing, sick in your stomach, a tightening in your gut, jaw is tense... audition-fear, right?

Now you have felt feelings like that or something similar right? And your focus is on how tense and fearful you are isn’t that right?

So now just for a second imagine that you can see a door up and to your right, a door with a handle on. This handle is powerful and you know it is, you can sense it’s power already, can’t you?

This door handle has a label on it marked, Liberation. You wander over to that door and pause for a second and wonder if you should go ahead and open the door? And as you hesitate you decide to go ahead anyway and open the door marked Liberation, wondering when this will release your acting audition-fear...?

And as you open it you see a completely different scenario, somewhere good, somewhere calm... and as you step through the door, your whole body begins to take on the feelings from the other side of the door. You begin to relax...

And you start to feel better about yourself inside don't you? Even if it’s just a tiny shift - it’s still a shift, right? And you might even begin to trust this idea more and more...

Now from this new position of Liberation can you remember a time when you felt supremely confident?

Totally confident, a time when you knew you were “on top of your game” in the true sense of being at your best, at your peak. You know the kind of thing right?

Now what would happen if you could remember those feelings and the next time you went for an acting audition you could carry those feelings with you instead of the old feelings, the ones you used to have.

You might picture yourself at an upcoming audition and see yourself going through that door feeling totally confident and totally relaxed and on “top of your game”, couldn’t you?

And just to make it even more likely to occur you could allow those feelings to reach a peak and as they do you squeeze your fingers and thumb together to anchor those feelings in place and find you can recall those feelings and as you picture yourself entering the room...

...you squeeze your fingers and thumb together gently and those feelings of confidence and being on “top of your game”, will return naturally and effortlessly.

Let me know how well does this work for you?
